Glenfin Quarry

This quarry is located in the Scottish Borders on the Berickshire coast. The project was for a rock quarry extension to be developed to an existing quarry, the application comprising planning application and environmental statement in support of extracting 4.5 million tonnes of rock over 30 years. Forming part of the application was the preparation of an environmental impact assessment addressing in particular landscape due to a nearby historic monument.

Blinkbonny Quarry

This quarry is located in the Scottish Borders in the South of Scotland. After 10 years of extraction operations a planning application and environmental statement was prepared and submitted for an extension to the quarry to extract 5 million tonnes of rock over 25 years. Prior to submitting the application extensive studies were carried out covering ecology and hydrogeology due to the proximity of an SSSI Loch. Forming part of the application was the preparation of an environmental impact assessment which covered such areas as landscape, noise, dust, ground vibration and ecology. A detailed restoration and aftercare scheme was prepared including the restoration of the present quarry area creating a water feature to enhance the habitat of the area together with woodland planting and landscaping the side walls.

Hazeldean Quarry

This quarry is located in the county of Northumberland, in North East England. The project was for a craft stone quarry to be developed at an existing quarry with the application comprising of a planning application and environmental statement in support of extracting 50,000 tonnes of rock over 15 years. Forming part of the application was the preparation of an environmental impact assessment due to this location on the North East coast of Northumberland. On completion of quarrying the quarry will be allowed to naturally re-vegetate.

Kingsburgh Quarry

The quarry is located on the Isle of Skye in the North West of Scotland. The planning application and environmental statement was prepared and submitted for an extension to the closed quarry to extract 300,000 tonnes of rock over 10 years. Prior to submitting the application extensive studies were carried out covering ecology and hydro-geology due to the proximity of peat bogs. Forming part of the application was the preparation of an environmental impact assessment which covered such areas as landscape, noise, dust and ecology. A detailed restoration and aftercare scheme was prepared including the restoration of the existing quarry area creating a water feature to enhance the habitat.

Darney Quarry

This quarry is located in the county of Northumberland, England. With the acquisition of this large quarry by a client, the operation has been project managed with the preparation of a site operations file, 3 year site progress plan, review of the leases and preparation of a Health & Safety Plan.
